Guide: How To Obtain All New Pokemon In Pokemon Scarlet/Violet’s Teal Mask DLC
Earlier this week, The Teal Mask DLC was released for Pokemon Scarlet And Violet, adding some brand new Pokemon to the game for players to collect.
Below you will find a quick explanation for where to find all of the brand new Pokemon that were added to the game.
Read on past the Spoiler Warning for the full details:
Poltchageist & Sinistcha
The Matcha Pokemon Poltchageist is relatively common in the Teal Mask’s Kitakami region, and can be found along Reveler’s Road and in Mossfell Confluence. Like it’s cousin Sinistea, it comes in Counterfeit and Artisan variants, distinguished by the small authenticity mark on its bottom:
Poltchageist can be evolved into Sinistcha using the Teacup evolution item. Sinistcha itself can also be found as a 5* or 6* Tear Raid battle.
- Counterfeit Poltchageist requires the Unremarkable Teacup
- One Unremarkable Teacup can be found in Paradise Barrens as a Pokeball Item
- More can be obtained from the Ogre Oustin minigame.
- Artisan Poltchageist requires the Masterpiece Teacup
- One Masterpiece Teacup can be found in the Timeless Woods as a Pokeball Item
- More can be obtained from the Ogre Oustin minigame.
Dipplin
Dipplin can be evolved from Applin by using Syrupy Apples, which can be purchased from a small shack in the Southeast Area of Mossfell Confluence. Dipplin can also be found as a 4* Tera Raid Encounter.
If you do not already have an Applin, you can find them in the Apple farm near the starting village Mossui Town.
Ogerpon
The Teal Mask’s mascot Ogerpon can be encountered and captured as part of the DLC’s Main Story. Follow along with the waypoints on your map to complete the Main Story objectives. At the end of the story, you will be able to challenge Ogerpon in a tough boss battle, after which she is a guaranteed capture.
Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipit
The Loyal Three are first encountered as part of the main story. After completing it fully, you can find and capture them in the following locations:
- Okidogi ~ Paradise Barrens
- Munkidori ~ Wistful Fields
- Fezandipiti ~ Oni Mountain (East)
They will be encountered at Level 70 as a normal Legendary Battle. Be sure to stock up on Pokeballs before taking them on.
Bloodmoon Ursaluna
Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a special version of Ursaluna that can only be captured by completing the sidequest given by Perrin, a new character introduced in the DLC. To start this quest, speak to Perrin on the West side of Mossui Town after registering 150 Pokemon in the Kitakami Pokedex. If you have already completed the Paldea Pokedex, this task will be slightly easier.
Once you have started the quest, follow Perrin’s instructions to complete a phototaking minigame in the Timeless Woods. After taking pictures of 10 different Pokemon, Bloodmoon Ursaluna will appear and challenge you. It is a guaranteed capture after making it faint.
Note that there is no way to obtain Bloodmoon Ursaluna outside of this quest as of this writing. An Ursaring captured from any game will not be able to evolve into this special variant.
