Guide: How To Stop Animal Crossing New Horizons Villagers From Moving Out, If You Mistakenly Told Them To Leave
As Animal Crossing: New Horizons players will know, villagers will sometimes ask if they should move away from their island – and leave the choice to players. This can become tragic when players accidentally say ‘Yes’ to some of their favorite villagers, with apparently no hope of reversing their decision. Well, here’s one solution that can salvage the situation, if you’re fast enough!
First off, this method needs to be done on the same day that the villager was asked to leave. So do NOT time-travel to another day – just do the following:
- Create/load up a second player character.
- If you need to create a new character, don’t worry as you can simply delete them later on.
- Use this second player character to run around until you find the moving-out villager with a thought bubble above their head.
- The villager will also ask this second player character if they should move away. Tell them to stay.
And there you have it! When you return to your main character and find the same villager again, they will let you know that they have changed their mind thanks to the second player character.
Hope this helps!
