Mirror mode has made a return to Mario Kart World, but unlocking it is a little more complicated than past entries.
In this guide, we will show you how to unlock mirror mode, based on our testing and reports from other players and publications.
As the name implies, mirror mode is a mode in Grand Prix, Knockout Tour, and Versus that flips the perspective of courses. This time round, you can also enjoy Free Roam in mirror mode after unlocking it.
Based on our testing and analysis, it seems that you need to meet the following requirements to unlock mirror mode:
If you’ve done everything correctly, a special cutscene showing mirror mode getting unlocked will be played after playing the Special Cup in 150cc.
Once mirror mode has been unlocked, you can play mirror mode courses in Grand Prix and Knockout Tour by selecting the cup/rally you want to play, followed by selecting mirror mode on the speed class screen.
In Versus, you can select mirror mode on the customization screen before starting the game.
You can activate mirror mode in Free Roam by driving to one of the mirrors at Peach Stadium. A cutscene will play and it will flip the perspective of everything in Free Roam.
