In Mario Kart World, the Special Cup, along with Rainbow Road, must be unlocked first before you can play them in Grand Prix.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock both the Special Cup and Rainbow Road.
In order to unlock Special Cup, you need to place first, second, or third in the seven Grand Prix cups that are available from the start of the game. You can beat the cups in any order. This applies to every speed class (50c, 100cc, 150cc, Mirror) in Grand Prix, so unlocking Special Cup in 50cc will not unlock Special Cup in 100cc.
Once you’ve unlocked Special Cup, you can watch a special cutscene. Special Cup consists of four courses – Acorn Heights, Mario Circuit, Peach Stadium, and Rainbow Road.
