Hackers Get Linux Up And Running On Nintendo Switch

A team of hackers known as fail0verflow have successfully got the Linux operating system up on Nintendo Switch.

According to fail0verflow, an exploit involving a bootrom bug was used to get Linux running on the system. The team claims the bug couldn’t be patched on Nintendo Switch consoles currently available in the market, and it doesn’t require a mod chip.

A month ago, another group of hackers named Team Xecuter managed to get custom firmware running on the Switch, which could potentially open the console’s doors to piracy.
