HAL Laboratory, the developers of Kirby and Boxboy, have once again decided to celebrate April Fool’s Day with an obviously fake new game everyone wishes was real.
Following the joke last year where Kirby and Qbby switched shapes for the day, this year HAL has decided to announce Boxboy: Final Box, a side-scrolling beat-em-up starring Qbby and friends that’s also a tribute to the Final Fight series.
Even though its obvious this is an April Fool’s day prank, we can’t help but feel like this would be a pretty awesome game if released to the public. We will likely continue to report on various other game developers with their own April Fool’s day plans, so stay tuned for the rest of today.
