Pokemon Scarlet And Violet introduce some new evolution mechanics for several of its new Pokemon, one of which can be rather tedious to perform.

The method in question is walking 1000 steps with the Pokemon out using the Let’s Go feature. Accomplishing this feat can be quite a challenge given that following Pokemon have great difficulty keeping up with the player, and getting too far away from them will cause them to teleport back into their balls, cutting the walking session short. Not helping matters is that there are three different Pokemon that have this as their evolution requirement, including the popular Pawmi evolution line.

Luckily, one Japanese player seems to have discovered a trick that can make this process a lot easier. To use this, all players need is to have the High Jump ability unlocked for Koraidon/Miraidon, along with a nearby Pokemon center:

1. Unlock High Jump by going through the Path Of Legends Story.
2. Locate a Pokemon center, if you do not have High Jump, specifically seek out one that is next to a cliff that you can access.
3. Activate Let’s Go for the Pokemon you wish to evolve by placing it in the first slot of your Party, and pressing “R” or “ZR”.
4. Jump onto the roof of the Pokemon Center while riding Koraidon/Miraidon
5. Your Pokemon will start running around in circles trying to reach you, as it has no way of jumping atop the Pokemon Center by itself.
6. Let the Pokemon run around for about 10 minutes or more to accumulate the steps.
7. Once enough time has passed, jump off the Pokemon Center and level your Pokemon up in battle or by using candies.
8. If the Pokemon does not evolve, repeat from Step 1 until it does.
