We have some very strange news concerning HORI’s official Luigi GameCube Controller for Nintendo Switch coming from Japan.
As you probably already know, this controller was released in the west last year and is readily available at retail. But this isn’t the case in Japan because the controller was sold in a GEO exclusive bundle on December 7, 2018 with the Nintendo Switch and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate:
Surprisingly, the Luigi GameCube Controller was never sold separately outside of the bundle. The quantity produced was so low that it couldn’t be purchased through normal means. Resellers know this and are charging a hefty markup for it in Japan.
If you’re having trouble finding the controller, consider importing it from Amazon US.
