As you probably have already heard, Nintendo is rolling out an updated Nintendo Switch model with longer battery life in August 2019.

The updated model, which has been available in select regions since early August, is scheduled to arrive in Japan in late August 2019.

Despite the fact that a new model is on the way in a couple of weeks, Japanese customers aren’t holding back for the new model as sales for the inferior model with shorter battery life are still going strong.

In fact, as of August 15, 2019, the inferior model is the No. 1 bestselling video game product on Amazon Japan:

That said, please keep in mind that the inferior model comes with a complimentary 3000 yen Nintendo eShop voucher.
