On February 21, 2019, the well-loved president of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, announced he was stepping down as president in April 2019.
Reggie worked at Nintendo for 13 years, overseeing the successful Wii and Nintendo DS era, going through the bumpy Wii U and Nintendo 3DS generation, and finally, elevating Nintendo back to its glory with the Nintendo Switch.
The president is also a huge gamer and over the years his identity has become part of many memes.
