Japan: 45% Nintendo Switch Owners Are Ages 19 And Below
Famitsu and Entertainment Business Insight (eb-i) have published the results of their demographic findings of Nintendo Switch and Splatoon 2 players in Japan.
Over 16,000 people took part in the survey, so we should have a good look at the demographics of Nintendo Switch owners in Japan.
Firstly, here’s a pie chart and graph showing the demographics of Nintendo Switch owners in Japan.
According to the pie chart, 65.9% of Nintendo Switch owners are male, and 34.1% are female.

10 – 19 years: 27.1%
20 – 29 years: 20.7%
30 – 39 years: 14.3%
40 – 49 years: 12.5%
50 – 59 years: 5.0%
60 – 69 years: 2.3%
Here we could clearly see the Nintendo Switch is really popular with kids. 45.2% of Nintendo Switch owners are 19 years and below in Japan, and there’s relatively still a lot of interest with working adults between ages 20 to 49. The older folks seem to be enjoying it too, as 7.3% of Switch owners in Japan are between 50 to 69 years of age.
Now let’s take a look at the demographics of Splatoon 2 players.
The pie chart says 73.9% of Splatoon 2 players are male, while 26.1% are female.

When it comes to Splatoon 2, you could clearly see the game is extremely popular among youngsters. A whopping 63% of Splatoon 2 players in Japan are age 19 and below, so if you have been getting trashed by a really good Splatoon 2 player, chances are they are pretty young!
