Japan: Bakutsuri Hunters Set For December 7 Release Along With Giga Rod & Lure Peripherals

Bandai Namco has recently revealed the launch date for their latest fishing game for the Nintendo Switch!

Previously named Bakutsuri Bar Hunter, the game will now be released in the region as Bakutsuri Hunters which will be included as a download code along with the unique “Bakutsuri Giga Rod” fishing reel peripheral. This fishing reel peripheral will work as an attachment to the right Switch Joy Con to play the game.

Bakutsuri Giga Rod (4,800 yen)

The “Bakutsuri Giga Rod” from Bakutsuri Bar Hunter. Set the Bakutsuri Giga Rod to your Switch to catch big game fish with reel and gyro action. Go on an adventure with your friendsin Story Mode. Also, you can obtain new fishing spots through Wi-Fi connectivity. (To play on Switch Lite, you must have a separate Joy-Con (R).)

Bakutsuri Giga Lures (450 yen each)

By reading the scale code of a Bakutsuri Giga Lure with the separately sold Bakutsuri Giga Rod, that Lure will appear for use in the game.

• Giga Shark X – Allows you to lure in Giga Fish at medium depth. Deep sea-type fish will take this bait. Includes a fishing spot card that grants you the “Palace of the Dragon King” fishing spot.
• Giga Whale X – Allows you to lure in Giga Fish at a deep level. Normal-type fish will take this bait. Includes a fishing spot card that grants you the “Absolute Zero Volcano” fishing spot.
• Giga Swordfish X – Allows you to lure in Giga Fish at surface level. Other-type fish will take this bait. Includes a fishing spot card that grants you the “Vortex Lake of the Departed” fishing spot.
• Giga Shrimp X – Allows you to lure in Giga Fish at medium depth. Invertebrate-type fish will take this bait. Includes a fishing spot card that grants you the “Coiling Rapids” fishing spot.
