With September having come to an end, Famitsu has some new sales information to share for the month in Japan.
According to Famitsu, the Nintendo Switch sold 168,810 units for the month of September, making it the best selling console for that month. In comparison, the PlayStation 4 sold 114,630 units and came in at second place. The Nintendo Switch moved 254,289 units in August 2017, meaning Nintendo moved around 86,000 units lesser than before.
On the software front, the Nintendo Switch is doing pretty well too. Splatoon 2, which launched on July 21, 2017, continues its sales momentum and was the second best selling software in Japan for the month of September. The game sold 138,694 copies.
When it comes to overall software sales, Nintendo sold the most software than any other company in September. Nintendo moved a total of 398,000 copies of Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U first party software. Sony trailed behind at 291,000 copies, while Square-Enix was at a distant third with 180,000 copies.
