Japan: Nintendo Switch Sells 200,000 Consoles Thanks To Pokemon Let’s GO

Following Famitsu’s report, Media Create has published their round of sales data for the period between November 12 and November 18, 2018.

The number one bestselling game in Japan last week was none other than Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee. The game moved 661,240 copies at launch week. This includes sales of the console and Poke Ball Plus sets.

Coming in at No. 3 was Super Mario Party (20,942 copies). The game has managed to sell 345,627 copies in its entire lifetime in Japan. Another notable mention is Luigi’s Mansion which launched 2 weeks ago for Nintendo 3DS in Japan. Luigi’s Mansion moved 9,320 units, bringing its total to 36,689 copies.

Finally, we have a look at Nintendo Switch hardware sales. Thanks to the launch of Pokemon Let’s GO, 200,850 systems were sold last week, taking up a huge 88.4% chunk of total hardware sales in Japan.

This, my friends, is a real system seller in action.
