To go alongside the Virtual Console releases of Pokemon Gold and Silver on Nintendo 3DS, The Pokemon Company is planning to release the Pokemon Gold and Silver Special Edition exclusively in Japan.
The Pokemon Gold and Silver Special Editions come in their own unique box packaging, reminiscent of the previous Pokemon Gold and Silver packaging on Game Boy Color. Each box comes with a redeemable download code of Pokemon Gold or Pokemon Silver.
A “game cartridge” magnet of either game is included in each box.
An instructional manual featuring different stickers of either game is included in each box.
Finally, there’s an illustration displaying every single new Pokemon which debuts in Pokemon Gold and Silver and details about it.
The Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver Special Editions are scheduled to launch in Japan on September 22, 2017 for 1,389 yen (exclusive of sales tax).
We’ll update this article once both Special Editions become available for purchase on Amazon Japan.
