Japan: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sells 1.22 Million, Pokemon Let’s GO Crosses 1 Million

Media Create has published their sales data for the period between December 3 and December 9, 2018.

As expected, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the No. 1 bestselling game in Japan last week. Media Create puts launch sales at 1,220,535 copies. Coming in at No. 2 is Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee, which managed to move 93,787 units to bump its lifetime sales to 1,012,247.

Following closely at No. 3 is Super Mario Party at 69,861 (figures include Joy-Con bundle), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe selling 20,995 copies at No. 4, and Splatoon 2 moving 19,083 copies at No. 5. As you can see it’s a strong week for Nintendo thanks to the spillover effect from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Similar to Famitsu, Media Create puts Nintendo Switch hardware sales at 281,222 systems sold (75.5% of the hardware market), so lifetime sales estimated by Media Create are now at 6 million.
