Toho Cinemas, which operates over 50 cinemas in Japan, is ceasing its Pokemon GO service.
From August 7, 2018, Pokemon GO sponsored gyms and sponsored Poke Stops at Toho Cinema locations will be deactivated.
No reason was given, but many trainers living in Japan are disappointed by the move. Toho Cinemas has to pay The Pokemon Company for sponsored gyms and Poke Stops, so that may be an issue.
