A Japanese retailer has been praised for taking actions against a scalper that was reselling Nintendo Switch 2 consoles online.
Nojima Online has established a special system to track down scalpers. Apparently, the company has affixed a QR code onto a layer of transparent shrink wrap that is shipped with every console they deliver. This allows them to identify scalpers that list products purchased from their website.
The company identified one scalper through this method, and their account has been banned from shopping on the Nojima Online website. Japanese users have praised Nojima Online for taking actions against scalping. Their latest post received 81,000 likes at the time of writing.
