Japanese Retailers See Record Nintendo Switch 2 Allocations Per Store, But Demand Is Far Higher

We have some interesting news today about the amount of Nintendo Switch 2 stock Japanese retailers are receiving per store.

A user that applied for a pre-order lottery at an Yokado store claimed that the store had 320 units up for grabs, which is a large quantity for a console launch if we were to compare to the Switch and PlayStation 5.

However, judging from their ballot number, it seems that the demand for that single  is at least 6,000 units, 19 times more than what the Yokado store was allocated:

Another user shared that a store located in Omiya, Saitama was allocated 125 units, but the demand for that store was 900 units.

It seems that demand for the Switch 2 is far higher than what Nintendo could supply in Japan, so it is expected to be difficult to secure a Switch 2 for several months. Nintendo has promised to ramp up production to meet demand.
