Looks like there is a new reason to buying a Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip besides being able to charge the Joy-Con 2.
According to the official Nintendo website and Nintendo Today! app, the Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip comes with two additional GL and GR buttons on the back of the grip. This is identical to the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, which have the same GL and GR buttons.
The GL and GR buttons can be mapped to any buttons that you like. This is especially useful in fighting games.
And what about the Joy-Con 2 Grip that comes with every Nintendo Switch 2 console? Unfortunately, the grip doesn’t come with the additional buttons, so if you want those extra GL and GR buttons, you have to get a Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip or Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller.
