Kimishima Talks About Switch Targets, China Entry, Mobile, & Super Nintendo World
In an interview with Diamond, Nintendo President, Tatsumi Kimishima, shared some of his views on a variety of topics. The interview can be viewed here in Japanese however, Dr Serkan Toto from Kantan Games has kindly translated a few points out.
Basically, here is what Kimishima thinks. Kimishima thinks that Nintendo can sell one Switch per person in the household but thinks that the Switch’s price might be an issue. On the other hand, the 3DS continues to sell strongly to children
As for Switch’s entry into China, Chinese regulations are making it difficult to enter the market as it currently is.
Kimishima also commented that he was satisfied with Nintendo’s partnership with DeNA and that people can look for to more apps coming up.
Last point, Super Nintendo World is expected to be complete before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, so tourist and athletes can definitely check it out for some R&R.
1) Diamond Online in Japan today ran an interview with Nintendo president Kimishima.
He says Miyamoto's target of selling 1 Switch per person (as opposed to 1 Wii per household back in the day) sounds impressive but that the price is a high hurdle. He still thinks it’s possible.

4) About mobile partner DeNA, he says he "isn’t dissatisfied". But he also says as there will be more Nintendo apps coming while existing ones will continue to be serviced, collaborations with other companies are possible.
( I think he was never more clear about the last part.)
