As the Nintendo Switch continues to make headlines around the world as the hottest piece of gaming hardware available (or unavailable) in stores, it has sure turned a few heads its way.
When asked by IGN (link) if Kingdom Hearts III will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, Kingdom Hearts III director, Tetsuya Nomura, said though he is currently focusing on bringing the game onto the promised hardware, but he is not closing the doors on a Nintendo Switch version.
“The Nintendo Switch is definitely a very interesting piece of hardware, but if we lightly say, ‘Oh yeah, we’ll be on the Nintendo Switch,’ I’m sure people will come back and say, ‘But what about the PS4 and Xbox One? We want them out first. Don’t focus on other platforms,’” Nomura told IGN. “So for now, we want to focus on what platforms we’ve already announced we’re going to be releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 on. And so after, perhaps, maybe we can start thinking about other possibilities.”
First confirmed in production in 2013, Kingdom Hearts III will only be released next year in 2018. Hopefully at that time the Nintendo Switch’s sale can remain upbeat to feed Mr Nomura’s further interest in developing on it.
