Man Arrested In Japan For Selling A Hacked Sobble In Pokemon Sword/Shield

An interesting report has surfaced from Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun about a man who was arrested in Japan for selling hacked Pokemon in Pokemon Sword And Shield.

According to the report, the 23 year old man was apprehended after being caught selling a hacked Sobble to his client in Kyoto, who paid around 4,400 yen ($42) for the modded Pokemon. As it turns out however, such activities are in violation of Japan’s Unfair Competition Prevention Act, which led to the perpetrator’s arrest.

The accused reportedly confessed to the allegations, and the prefectural police also seized the computer he used to facilitate his illicit business, which they put on display during a press conference. It is estimated that in total, the man earned around 1,150,000 yen ($10,900) from selling hacked Pokemon in Pokemon Sword And Shield.
