Nintendo’s classic NES Zapper accessory has once again gotten into the headlines for the wrong reasons.
Apparently, a man in Hermosillo, Mexico used an NES Zapper to rob a bank. By covering the toy with tape, he was able to hide that it was a toy – long enough to fool the bank tellers working there.
Fortunately, the cops managed to track him down shortly after the crime. The culprit is now under investigation for around 15 other bank robberies – although it’s not clear if he also used the same NES Zapper in those crimes.
It looks like crooks will remain crooks, despite Nintendo’s best efforts to market the NES Zapper as a child’s toy. Lets hope other desperate folks don’t get the same idea from watching this guy.
