Masahiro Sakurai Praises Super Mario Bros. Wonder And Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 As “Masterpieces”

Last week saw the release of two highly anticipated games: Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, to massive positive reception from both critics and fans.

Among the gamers enjoying both titles was none other than Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Super Smash Bros. In a post on social media, Sakurai revealed that he had already completed both Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Spider-Man 2, despite the struggle of both launching on the same day. He went on to call them both “masterpieces” and recommends them wholeheartedly to anyone.

I finished “Spider-Man 2” and “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” last night.
It’s a problem when the release dates of big titles you should watch overlap…!
However, I think both are masterpieces that I can recommend to anyone.
The new games are amazing, and I’m grateful to them for making them.

The be called a “Masterpiece” by Masahiro Sakurai is quite high praise indeed, given that he is the developer of many great games, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Although Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Spider-Man are vastly different games, we hope everyone playing is enjoying their time as well.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
