Media Create Will Stop Sharing Japanese Video Game Sales Data With The Public Next Month

Bad news – Media Create, the company the tracks sales data from a majority of retailers all over Japan, has announced it’s going to stop publishing their weekly sales data for public consumption.

The decision came after Media Create did a company review. Those who wish to access sales data from April 2019 may do so by paying a fee to Media Create. This means 4Gamer’s weekly sales data from Media Create will most likely cease from next month.

Not all hope is lost though – sites like Famitsu and Dengeki Online publish sales data on a regular basis. They are close to Media Create numbers, but many still consider Media Create as the most accurate in the industry.
