Previously, rumors were stirring that PlatinumGame’s cancelled game Scalebound could possibly head to Nintendo Switch in the future. After months of uneasy silence however, eager fans can finally lay their speculation to rest.
In a recent interview with Video Games Chronicle, Platinum head Atsushi Inaba finally revealed some important details about the IP. Namely, Inaba confirmed that Microsoft now held the rights to the Scalebound property – and reiterated that there were currently no plans for a Switch port.
While Inaba did not elaborate further, this does feel like a definitive nail in the coffin. If anything, we’d have to wait for Scalebound to hit Xbox One or PC first, before any hope of a Switch port comes around (like with Cuphead).
At the very least, Nintendo fans can still look forward to PlatinumGame’s Astral Chain – which hits Nintendo Switch in August 2019.
