Early on in the game’s development, publisher and developer MiHoYo said that their open-world gacha game Genshin Impact would eventually make its way to Nintendo Switch.
That said, in the years since the game’s official launch in 2020, the company has shared no new information about when this supposed Switch port would be released, leading many to wonder if it had been cancelled or abandoned.
Recently however, Gonintendo reached out to MiHoYo to ask them directly about the status of the Switch port of Genshin Impact, and managed to receive a response from a PR Specialist confirming the Switch version is “still in development”.
Xin Yang, Global PR specialist, miHoYo: The Switch version is still in development, and we will release more information as we progress further along.
Despite this reassurance, we would still caution readers to remain cautiously optimistic about the Genshin Impact Switch port, at least until we receive a more public announcement for when it will be released. Stay tuned for more information as it comes.
