Missing Man With Dementia Finds Way Home After Pokemon Go Trainer Spots Him

The goal of Niantic was to get people outdoors with the creation of Pokemon Go. Over the years since it was released since it was released, we hear about some crazy things that people find when they’re outdoors, although they’re not always pleasant.

However, in this case, the tale is a little more heartwarming. Just this past Thursday, 83-year-old man with dementia, Homer Howard, was reported missing in Ohio. On Friday morning, as Pokemon Go Trainer, Allison Hines, was making her way around her usual Pokemon Go haunts, she found Howard across the state border in Kentucky.

Feeling as if something was amiss with Howard, Hines approached Howard, leading Howard to realise that he was a far way from home. Hines then brought Howard back to his home in Maineville, Ohio, ending Howard’s search for his way home.

When the whole event ended, Hines said:

“I’m very grateful for ‘Pokemon Go,'” she said. “My goodness. What I loved about it is, when I played its it got me out in the community. It was a social game. Today, it saved a man’s life.”

Looks like Pokemon Go got it right to get people out into the streets.
