Following the start of the second Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order lottery on My Nintendo Store Japan, it seems that the number of Japanese balloting for the Nintendo Switch 2 Multi-Language System has increased.

A Twitter poll conducted on the day the second pre-order lottery started revealed that 14% of those who initially balloted for a Japanese-Language System have switched over to the Multi-Language System, even though it is 20,000 yen more expensive (USD140).

It seems that the primary motivation behind the change is the perception that there is a higher chance of securing a set. The estimated success rate for the Multi-Language System in the first lottery was between 54% to 91%, whereas it was roughly 20% to 25% for the standalone and Mario Kart World Japanese-Language Systems.

The fact that more people are going for the 69,980 yen (USD490) Multi-Language System shows that hardcore fans think that the price isn’t unreasonable, and they are willing to pay a premium to increase their chances of getting a Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.
