Pretty much since the game’s release, there have been rumors that Ash Williams from the Evil Dead film franchise would be joining Mortal Kombat 11 as a DLC character.
That said, although numerous crossover characters have already been released for Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC, Ash Williams is still nowhere to be found among the game’s cast. As a result, many fans have been left scratching their heads about the truth behind these rumors, if there was any truth to them at all.
Recently, Mortal Kombat 11 director Ed Boon appeared on the podcast Vic’s Basement, where the host Victor Lucas directly asked him about the Ash William’s rumors. In response, Boon had this to say:
“I wish… there’s one I wish I could comment on. Yeah, you know what, perhaps in a future Vic’s Basement we can have that conversation.”
Based on this cryptic response, many are theorizing that perhaps there was some difficulty behind the scenes with Ash Williams coming to Mortal Kombat 11, either resulting in a lengthy delay or his character being scrapped altogether. We will be sure to bring more updates on the situation should they become available.
