Earlier this week, Square Enix revealed NEO: The World Ends With You – an official follow-up to The World Ends With You. If you’ve been concerned about whether this new game’s music will match up to the original’s legendary soundtrack, worry not!
Takeharu Ishimoto, composer of the original The World Ends With You for Nintendo DS, recently confirmed on Twitter that he would be in charge for NEO: The World Ends With You‘s music. While he did not reveal further details, he expressed much enthusiasm for the project:
“新 すばらしきこのせかい また曲担当させて頂きます。
世間の流行りが何であれ、等身大でやれる事を最大限にやってみます〜!”“I will be in charge of the new music. No matter what the fashion is, I will try to do what I can do in life size!“
Takeharu Ishimoto will also be in charge of the soundtrack for the upcoming anime adaptation of The World Ends With You.
NEO: The World Ends With You will be hitting Nintendo Switch in Summer 2021. We’ll report back as we hear more in the future.
