Combined worldwide lifetime sales for the NES Classic and SNES Classic will very soon overtake Wii U lifetime sales, all in the span of 2 years.
As of December 31, 2018, Wii U lifetime sales are at 13.56 million units, while combined NES Classic and SNES Classic sales are at 13.11 million. Assuming Nintendo continues to ship the NES Classic and SNES Classic, the Classics systems may very well surpass Wii U by the end of this fiscal year ending March 31, 2019.
