During the Anime Expo 2019, The Pokemon Company showcased a special screening for the Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution Pokemon movie along with a quick teaser for a new Pokemon film releasing in 2020!
While no online footage is available at the moment, fans who attended the event shared that the teaser reveals Pikachu sliding down from a vine at what seems to be a forest setting. The teaser ended showing a ‘2020’ release date.
Additionally, the teaser shows that the next movie will be presented in the usual animation style, and not in CG, similar to Pokemon the Series: Sun & Moon.
Note that while some initial reports say that the next film’s title would be “Pokemon With You,” the official title is yet to be revealed. “Pokemon With You” is a Japanese charity founded in March 2011 by The Pokemon Company.
