When Mario Strikers: Battle League was first revealed earlier this month, speculation was rife about whether series developer Next Level Games would be returning to helm the new title. Well, longtime fans will be happy to hear that this will indeed be the case!

Responding to an inquiry from Nintendo World Report, Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Strikers: Battle League is “co-developed by Next Level Games and Nintendo”. This was also reflected by an Australian Classifications database listing, where Next Level Games is listed as the game’s developer.

Previously, Next Level Games was responsible for developing both Mario Strikers (2005, GameCube) and Mario Strikers Charged (2007, Wii). The studio also developed Luigi’s Mansion 3 for the Nintendo Switch.
