Niantic has announced that something special is coming to Pokemon GO in celebration of a new research task milestone.

The announcement was made via the following posts on Pokemon GO‘s official Twitter account. The posts explain that in celebration of the playerbase completing over 36 million research tasks for Professor Willow, an “Ultra Bonus” for players will be announced sometime soon.

Thanks for helping Professor Willow by completing over 36 MILLION research tasks! As a result, you’ve helped Spark, Blanche, and Candela make some amazing discoveries—some new, some old, and some relatively unknown. 😉

While the contents of the bonus are still unknown, many fans are speculating that it could have something to do with Jirachi. This is because a follow-up post relating to the Ultra Bonus told players to “Make a Wish”, and Jirachi is the Pokemon most closely associated with wishes.
