Nintendo Acknowledges Game-Breaking Bug In Switch Online’s Kirby 64, Fix In The Works
Last week, Nintendo released Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.
Following its release, many players discovered that the port contained a game breaking bug that was not present in the original version of the game. Specifically, players who took damage from specific sources in the underwater levels will get stunned forever, requiring them to quit the level in order to proceed.
Since then, Nintendo has issued a statement acknowledging the existence of this bug, and that a patch to fix it is currently in the works. The patch is planned to release early next week.
A bug has been found in #Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards for Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online that can prevent players from progressing under a certain condition. A patch will be released early next week to fix this. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Until the patch is released, players are advised to be careful when navigating the water levels in Kirby 64, lest they be trapped forever in the terrible abyss.
