VRM Consortium, an association to help develop the Virtual Reality business, has been formed by multiple companies in Japan. Their objective is to make the VRM file format the standard for human 3D models.
Although Nintendo has not officially entered the realm of Virtual Reality, they have previously told the press they’re always looking into it to see whether they can make it fun for games. By joining the VRM Consortium as an observer, Nintendo can observe the growth of Virtual Reality. However, they have no voting rights.
