Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and Game Freak, the three owners of the Pokemon Company, have re-registered some of their trademarks in Japan.
According to reports, the three companies have re-registered the Japanese trademarks for the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y logos in Japan. This renewal coincides with the 10th Anniversary of the two games, which kicked off the 6th Generation of Pokemon back in 2013.
Although an official reason for this renewal was not given, the most logical explanation is that this is to avoid losing the trademark for these logos, as trademarks in Japan are set to expire every 10 years. That said, some fans have begun speculating that this could also mean that The Pokemon Company is preparing upcoming projects relating to these two games, be it a remake, a new game set in the Kalos region, or perhaps a related DLC for Pokemon Scarlet And Violet.
We will be sure to report back with more updates should they become available.
