One of the reasons the Wii U fell was the lack of third-party developer support and it seems like Nintendo is trying to learn from the mistake.
While the Switch is not suffering from a shortage of games, Nintendo is creating middleware tools and a game engine to allow developers to “create interesting games in a short period of time while keeping development cost as low as possible”.
While this will certainly allow more developers to take interest in developing for the Switch, let’s hope Nintendo does not simultaneously let shovelwares in because they want more games.
