Nintendo Disqualifies 2024 Splatoon 3 World Championship Winners Due To Community Guidelines Violations

Nintendo has shared a major announcement regarding the 2024 Splatoon 3 World Championship tournament.

As announced on X/Twitter, members of Team Jackpot, the winners of the tournament, were found to have violated Nintendo’s community guidelines. As a result, their victory will be considered void, and they will not receive any of the trophies or accolades associated with the event. This includes the commemorative Splashtag banner that was added to the game following their victory, which will be adjusted in a later update.

Although Nintendo did not provide an officially say so, it is believed that their decision was a result of racist comments made by select members of Team Jackpot towards other players and persons. Screenshots of these comments surfaced online via social media, leading to heavy criticism from other members of the Splatoon community. Stay tuned for more updates should we hear more in the future.
