Nintendo Files Over 400 Take Downs On Switch Emulator Repositories On Github

Nintendo has filed a new wave of DMCA takedowns targeting Switch emulation projects.

As reported by Torrentfreak, Nintendo’s latest strikes have taken down more than 400 Switch emulator repositories on the hosting site Github. The majority of them (over 300) were aimed at Suyu, an emulator that rose up as the successor to Yuzu, which was the most popular Switch emulator until Nintendo wiped them out in 2024. Repositories tied to the discontinued Android Switch emulator Skyline were also taken down, as well as other a C# emulator called MonoNX.

The source codes for many of these emulators are constantly circulating online, meaning Nintendo has to constantly send new takedowns as new projects arise. Unless Nintendo decides to relax their stance on emulation, the neverending battle is likely to continue on.
