Nintendo Issues Copyright Takedowns To An Account Reposting From The Nintendo Today! App
TodayNews, an automated X account by OatmealDome, has been sharing videos, images, and other content from the Nintendo Today! smartphone app, but that has stopped a few days ago.
According to a statement, Nintendo has been issuing copyright takedowns of videos and pictures reposted by the account. As a result, moving forward the account will only post when new content becomes available, and users have to view the actual video or image in the app if they want to see it.
“Due to copyright takedowns from Nintendo, this account will no longer be able to post content from news posts. We’ll still post when new content is available, but you’ll need to view the content itself within the app. iOS users can tap our links to open the app directly.“
This comes after the Nintendo Today! app was quietly updated with measures to prevent users from taking videos and screenshots of content shown in the app.
