After Nintendo announced Virtual Reality support for Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, interest in next week’s Nintendo Labo VR Kit greatly spiked in Japan.
As of April 6, 2019, the Nintendo Labo VR Kit Starter Set (Toy-Con VR Goggles and Toy-Con Blaster) is currently the No. 1 bestselling video game product on Amazon Japan. Coming in at No. 2 is the full Nintendo Labo VR Kit which gives players all the VR Toy-Con for the full experience.
This proves that the VR announcement support worked, as pre-orders have increased very quickly in Japan. As for Amazon US, the Starter Kit is currently at No. 24 and the full Nintendo Labo VR Kit at No. 28.
