Weeks ago, there were reports that Nintendo was planning to move some of its Nintendo Switch production out of China to avoid getting hit by US tariffs.
Taiwanese newspaper Digitimes has reported that some production has already been shifted to Vietnam, an Asian country next to China. Hosiden, a Japanese company, is reportedly running the production of Nintendo Switch systems in Vietnam.
The report also stated that Hosiden started production in June 2019 and the factory has a production capacity of 300,000 units earmarked for the US market. The same report also suggested Foxconn was ready to help Nintendo in moving its production to Vietnam as well, but plans have been postponed as the tariffs have been dropped.
