Nintendo Quietly Changes The Way Titles Are Ranked On The Switch eShop

Following the latest firmware update on April 30, Nintendo has quietly made changes to the way titles are ranked on the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch.

Since the launch of Nintendo Switch, titles were ranked in order of units sold in the last 14 days. This applied to all sections of the eShop – recent releases, discounts, bestsellers, search, and more.

After April 30, titles are now ranked by their sales revenue in the last 3 days. This means that it may become harder to find cheap games like before. Some publishers took advantage of how titles were ranked on the eShop by constantly going on discount at low prices to climb the rankings. Now, it seems that hole has been plugged.

We can probably assume that these changes will also apply to the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch 2.
