Earlier this week, Nintendo hosted a major Nintendo Direct presentation for E3, where they shared news and updates for many titles and franchises, including announcements for Breath Of The Wild 2 and Metroid Dread.
That said, not all of Nintendo’s major series made an appearance at the show, with one notable absence being Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In an interview published by TheVerge, Nintendo Of America President Doug Bowser explained that even though it wasn’t mentioned during E3, Animal Crossing remains “a big part of Nintendo’s future” and that they will have more to share later.
“While we didn’t talk about it [during the E3 Nintendo Direct], we absolutely have plans going forward to ensure the 33 million people who have islands out there have new and fun activities to engage with. Look for more to come.”
This news will likely come as a reassurance to Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, especially since the game has not had any new updates announced for some time. We will be sure to report back with all the details as they come.
