Last week, it was discovered that Nintendo had taken down the main website for the Nintendo Labo, leading some to speculate what this could mean for the cardboard toys-to-life series moving forward.
Since then, Nintendo Of America has released a statement addressing the site’s removal through Games Radar. According to the statement, it seems the removal was part of “routine website maintenance and reorganization”. It also reassures fans that Labo will continue to be “available at retail locations”.
“Nintendo Labo is available at retail locations. We routinely conduct product website maintenance and reorganization. Information on Nintendo Labo can be found at Nintendo.com.”
In addition to this official statement from Nintendo, known industry insider Emily Rogers has chimed in to hint that there will be “one more Labo announcement” before the brand “rides off into the sunset”, although she did not elaborate on what exactly this announcement could be.
We will be sure to report back with more details as they come.
