Nintendo has been hit with an official complaint from a staff member alleging interference with their right to unionize.
As shared via Axios, the complaint was filed with the US National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) against Nintendo of America and global hiring firm Aston Carter. The complaint alleges that both companies engaged in “coercive statements”, “coercive actions”, employee “discharge” and “concerted activities” which interfered with the worker’s legal right to unionize. Aside from this, the exact contents of the complaint were not made public.
At the time of this writing, neither Nintendo nor Aston Carter have made moves to address the complaint. According to Axios’ expert, the allegations could turn into a major problem for Nintendo should NLRB decide to act upon them. Stay tuned for more details as they come.
