Genki, an accessory maker for video game consoles, has been sued by Nintendo for infringing Nintendo Switch 2’s trademark and trade dress.

In the company’s lawsuit against Genki, Nintendo claimed that Genki violated Nintendo’s trademarks when they presented a 3D mockup of the console ahead of the official Nintendo Switch 2 reveal. Genki’s confirmations of certain Switch 2 features to the media, as well as renderings of the Switch 2, included logos that violated Nintendo’s marks.

Nintendo’s lawsuit follows their actions at CES 2025, where lawyers approached the company for showing Switch 2 accessories and mockups.

At the time of writing, Genki has not responded to Nintendo’s lawsuit. You can find the full lawsuit details here.
